Privacy Policy — SiratSync

1. Introduction

SiratSync is an Islamic lifestyle application offering Quran (Arabic + English translation), Hadith collections, Prayer Times, Qibla Compass, Duas, Tasbih Counter, Ramadan Mode for Prayer times, Community features, bookmarks, and related features. This Privacy Policy describes the personal and non-personal information we collect and how we process it.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories depending on the features you use. We collect the minimum data necessary to deliver the service.

The app may run background tasks to update prayer time notifications. No personal data is processed during background tasks.

A. Information You Provide Directly

• Account information: If you register or sign in (Google or Email), we may store your display name, email address, and profile photo. This is used to identify you in community posts and to sync Streaks, preferences etc.
• Community posts: Any text or symbols you post in the Community section is stored and displayed publicly to other users. Do not post private or sensitive information in community posts.
• Support messages: If you contact support, we may keep your message, email address, and any information you supplied to address issues.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Identifiers: Unique identifiers generated by Firebase for authentication and security purposes (such as user ID). These identifiers are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

C. Location Data (Optional)

We may request your device's location to provide accurate Prayer Times and Qibla direction. Location access is optional; the App will ask for permission before using location. We only use location while the feature is active, Location is used only to calculate Prayer Times and Qibla Direction. The app does not store or share your precise location.

D. Local Storage

The app stores downloaded content (for example Aurad-e-fatiha and cached resources) on your device for offline use.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and personalize the App's features (prayer times, Qibla, community posts, bookmarks).
• Process and store community posts and account settings.
• Maintain app stability, security, and reliability.
• Send optional transactional messages like password resets

4. Third-Party Services & Data Processing

SiratSync uses limited third-party services provided by Google to enable core app functionality. These services process data only as necessary to operate the App securely and reliably.

• Firebase (Google): Used for user authentication (Email / Google sign-in) and secure cloud data storage (Firestore). Firebase processes limited personal data such as email address and user ID solely for providing these services. SiratSync does not use Firebase Analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. • Google Play Services: Used for app distribution, updates, and core platform functionality.

SiratSync does not sell or share personal data for advertising or commercial purposes. Data may be disclosed only if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users and the App.

5. Data Safety & Security

We take reasonable steps to secure your data:

• Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
• We rely on Google/Firebase security for stored cloud data.
• We use access controls and follow best practices to protect account data.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Community Content & Moderation

Community posts are public inside the app. By posting you grant SiratSync a non-exclusive license to display your content. You must follow our Community Guidelines. We reserve the right to remove posts or suspend accounts that violate our rules.

7. Open Data & Dataset Credits

SiratSync uses carefully curated open datasets for Quran, Hadith, and Duas. We fully acknowledge and credit the original sources, translators, and dataset contributors as outlined below.

• Quran:
  • Arabic Quran text is in the public domain and free of copyright.
  • English translation (where used) is by Umm Muhammad, sourced from Tanzil.net, licensed under Creative Commons CC BY 3.0.
  • Quran data structure is based on an open JSON dataset from rn0x/Quran-Data on GitHub.
• Hadith:
  • Structured Hadith JSON datasets (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) are sourced from the open Hadith-JSON project by Ahmed Abdelbaset (GitHub).
  • Hadith texts originate from classical Islamic Hadith collections.
  • All rights belong to the original Hadith compilers and publishers.
• Duas:
  • Dua content is sourced from publicly available Islamic resources and open datasets (e.g., dua.json).
  • All duas are used strictly for educational and devotional purposes, with attribution provided where applicable.

If any dataset owner or contributor requests modification, correction, or removal of their content, SiratSync will comply promptly and respectfully.

8. Ads, Payments & In-App Purchases

SiratSync is primarily free and ad-free. The app offers optional one-time in-app purchases that allow users to voluntarily support the development and maintenance of the app.

All payments are processed securely through Google Play Billing. SiratSync does not collect, store, or process any payment information such as credit card or debit card details.

We may receive confirmation of successful purchases from Google Play for the purpose of acknowledging support. These purchases are entirely optional and do not unlock exclusive features or restrict access to the core functionality of the app.

SiratSync does not display third-party advertisements and does not sell or share personal data for advertising purposes.

9. Data Retention

We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide the service. Account and community data are retained until you request deletion or close your account.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights (subject to local law):

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Permissions: Revoke location or notification permissions in your device settings.

11. Children

SiratSync is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

12. International Data Transfers

SiratSync uses cloud infrastructure provided by Google Firebase. As a result, user data may be processed or stored on secure servers located in different countries. By using the App, you consent to such data processing as permitted by applicable laws.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When changes are made we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.

14. Community Guidelines Reference

Please follow these Community Guidelines when posting content in the app:

• Respect all users regardless of their background or beliefs
• Do not post hate speech, explicit content, or misinformation
• Avoid political campaigning, spam, or commercial promotions
• Maintain a respectful and constructive tone in discussions

Violations may lead to content removal or account suspension.
