Privacy Policy — SiratSync

1. Introduction

SiratSync is an Islamic lifestyle application offering Quran (Arabic + English translation), Hadith collections, Prayer Times, Qibla Compass, Duas, Tasbih Counter, Ramadan Mode for Prayer times, Community features, bookmarks, and related features. This Privacy Policy describes the personal and non-personal information we collect and how we process it.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories depending on the features you use. We collect the minimum data necessary to deliver the service.

A. Information You Provide Directly

• Account information (optional): If you register or sign in (Google or Email), we may store your display name, email address, and profile photo. This is used to identify you in community posts and to sync Streaks, preferences etc.
• Community posts: Any text or symbols you post in the Community section is stored and displayed publicly to other users. Do not post private or sensitive information in community posts.
• Support messages: If you contact support, we may keep your message, email address, and any information you supplied to address issues.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Device & usage data: Device model, OS version, app version, locale, screen size, and basic usage metrics (features used, sessions, screen views). Collected for analytics and app improvements.
• Identifiers: Device identifiers generated by Firebase or system identifiers for analytics.

C. Location Data (Optional)

We may request your device's location to provide accurate Prayer Times and Qibla direction. Location access is optional; the App will ask for permission before using location. We only use location while the feature is active, and we do not track your location continuously in the background.

D. Local Storage

The app stores downloaded content (for example Aurad-e-fatiha and cached resources) on your device for offline use.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and personalize the App's features (prayer times, Qibla, community posts, bookmarks).
• Process and store community posts and account settings.
• Diagnose problems and analyze usage to improve performance and reliability.
• Send optional transactional messages like password resets or important account notices.

4. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We use third-party services to operate and improve the App. These providers may process or store data as described below:

• Firebase (Google): Analytics, Authentication, Firestore, Crashlytics. See: Firebase Privacy.
• Google Play Services: Used for app updates.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data to comply with legal obligations or to protect rights, safety, or property.

5. Data Safety & Security

We take reasonable steps to secure your data:

• Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
• We rely on Google/Firebase security for stored cloud data.
• We use access controls and follow best practices to protect account data.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Community Content & Moderation

Community posts are public inside the app. By posting you grant SiratSync a non-exclusive license to display your content. You must follow our Community Guidelines. We reserve the right to remove posts or suspend accounts that violate our rules.

7. Open Data & Dataset Credits

SiratSync uses curated datasets for Quran, Hadith, and Duas. We credit the dataset compilers and original sources as follows:

• Quran: Arabic text is public domain. English translation (where used) is credited to Umm Muhammad via Tanzil.net (CC BY 3.0). See Tanzil.
• Hadith JSON: Structured Hadith datasets used are credited to the Hadith-JSON project by Ahmed Abdelbaset (GitHub: AhmedBaset/hadith-json), with original texts from Sunnah.com.
• Dua datasets: Dua sources and authors are credited in the app's About section.

If a dataset owner requests removal or modification of their dataset, we will comply promptly.

8. Ads, Payments & Future Monetization

Currently SiratSync is free and ad-free. If we introduce advertisements or in-app purchases in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and disclose how ad SDKs or billing data are used. Payment processing (if enabled) is handled by Google Play; we do not receive or store payment card details.

9. Data Retention

We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide the service. Account and community data are retained until you request deletion or close your account. Analytics and crash logs may be retained for product improvement.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights (subject to local law):

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Permissions: Revoke location or notification permissions in your device settings.

11. Children

SiratSync is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Data may be processed or stored in countries where our service providers operate. By using the App you consent to transfer and processing of your data in those jurisdictions.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When changes are made we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.

14. Community Guidelines Reference

Please follow these Community Guidelines when posting content in the app:

• Respect all users regardless of their background or beliefs
• Do not post hate speech, explicit content, or misinformation
• Avoid political campaigning, spam, or commercial promotions
• Maintain a respectful and constructive tone in discussions

Violations may lead to content removal or account suspension.
